Young carers are children and young people who help look after a member of the family who is sick, disabled or has mental health problems, or is misusing drugs or alcohol. They may be someone who has direct caring responsibilities or they may be someone whose life is affected as a result of living with someone who has these conditions.
Burgess Hill Youth held an event yesterday for young carers aged 6-11 years at Fairfield Community Centre.
29 young carers enjoyed lots of activities including cake decorating, arts and crafts, flower planting, circus skills, plus a DJ workshop.
The Mustard Seed Café generously provided lunch for all attendees. Everyone had a great time particularly the pancakes at the end of the afternoon!
