Chicory Tip Fundraiser- Thanks!

The Chicory Tip Fundraising Event was Burgess Hill Youth’s biggest fundraising event of the year and took place on Saturday 3 February at Martlets Hall, Burgess Hill.  The event was supported by Burgess Hill District Lions Club and sponsored by Steve Willis Training

Burgess Hill Youth raised the following:

·         £325 in the raffle

·         £175 on the auction of the Porsche car for the day

·         plus £1040 entrance fees.

This amounts to an amazing total of £1540.  All contributions made will positively impact our fund raising efforts and help to provide additional income for the up keep of our community facility and support the youth work we deliver throughout the year.  In the past these funds have been used to replace computer equipment, provide play equipment, a contribution to activities programmes for members of the club and many other projects.

A big THANK YOU! to Burgess Hill District Lions, particularly Tony Parris, for organising this event and to our patron Steve Willis for his ongoing support of the club.

Porsche auction boosts club funds

Members of Burgess Hill Youth staff team were warmly welcomed by Tiffany Wade at the Porsche Centre, the visit enabled them to personally express sincere thanks to the team there, for the generous gift they provided for the auction conducted by Steve Willis Training team on behalf of the club at their apprentice graduation evening.

Whilst there the opportunity was taken by the Burgess Hill Youth volunteers to pose and have their picture taken with a rather expensive Porsche 918 Spyder.

Tiffany Wade, Marketing Manager at Porsche Centre Mid-Sussex commented: “On 27th November we were delighted to support engineer training facility, Steve Willis Training Centres Limited, by supplying a Porsche for the Weekend in their charity fundraiser at the centres annual graduation ceremony. The money raised will go to the local Burgess Hill Youth group, which provides a range of activities for the town’s children. This is an incredibly important resource and we feel strongly about supporting our local community projects”.

Paul Myles club secretary commented that without the continued support of local companies, Steve Willis Training and the Porsche Centre Mid Sussex and also local Charitable organisations such as the Burgess Hill District Lions Club we could not continue to provide recreational opportunities for young people in our community.

Party In The Park: funds raised for Young Carers

From Jennifer O'Grady, Projects and Administrative Co-ordinator, Burgess Hill Town Council.

I have just counted the funds raised at the Party In The Park event for the Young Carers and pleased to report that the sum of £304.91 was collected.

This is a fantastic amount and will ensure a fun activity for the Young Carers for which we are very grateful.

Thanks all!
