Burgess Hill Youth hosted two young carer events in the Easter holidays for 24 young carers – a trip to Fishers Farm Adventure Park and to Young Drive (based at Blacklands Farm). These events were funded by Santander and organised with support from the Town Council. Easter Eggs were generously provided by Radmall Funeral Services.
Fishers Farm Activity Park has several activities within an area. The children were able to access all of these including a climbing wall, bouncing pillows, tractor rides, magic show and climbing activities including a pirate ship. We attended the magic show at 12pm and then sat together to enjoy our packed lunches and then the children could choose their activities.
Young Drive included structured activities such as blindfolded Landrover driving, quad biking challenge and rally car timed trial. The group was divided into two teams led by two instructors and the teams competed against each other to earn the least penalty points. We asked the young people to score this event as this was the first time we attended this venue – the comments were very positive.
